Blue Eyes White Dragon Plush Sewing Pattern Tutorial
This listing is for a PDF pattern in English. The measurements are in inches.
This pattern will show you how to sew a dragon, inspired by the Blue Eyes White Dragon in the Yugioh series, measuring 8.5 inches wide, 7.5 inches long, and 9 inches tall, highlighting its iconic head fins and wings. He’s a little top heavy though, so a packet of pellets in his tail balances him out.
Here is a list of stitches used:
-backstitch
-ladder stitch
-topstitch
-satin/zigzag stitch
-basting stitch
Recommended fabrics:
-45 inches x 18 inches minky fabric in sky blue (main body color)
-5 inches x 4 inches minky fabric in white (the secondary color for the head fins)
-3 inches x 2 inches felt fabric in dark blue (eyes)
-5 inches x 3 inches felt fabric in white (claws)
-6 inches x 4 inches scrap fabric (pellet pouch)
Recommended materials:
-white acrylic paint (eye shine)
-poly-fil stuffing
-2 ounces of poly pellets/ steel shot/ glass beads
-dark blue thread
-white thread
-black thread
This is a 16 page tutorial with pictures to illustrate the steps. The pattern is full size and includes 16 pieces- no resizing needed before printing. Let me know if anything is unclear!
Note:
-1/4 inch seam allowance is already included
-the dragon is a little front heavy, so a pellet pouch balances him out
-it's highly recommended that you use a sewing machine with a satin/zigzag stitch option- you will also be sewing over multiple layers of fabrics
